What started as a single after-school program in a borrowed community hall has grown into a network of purpose-built learning spaces, each one designed to meet the unique needs of the children and families it serves.

Our founders grew up in Jharkhand. They watched children their own age drop out of school - not because they lacked ability, but because their families couldn't afford a notebook. That memory never left. In November 2025, it became SnehPathshala: Snehdhara's flagship initiative to bring free, quality education to children who have been left behind by circumstance, not capability. What began as a single classroom has grown into three learning centres in Ranchi and, in July 2026, expanded to Palra Village, Gurugram - extending our reach to children of daily-wage labourer families who had never had access to structured schooling.
In tribal and economically weaker communities across India, education is often treated as a privilege rather than a right. Families struggling to meet daily needs cannot afford school fees, books, uniforms, or transportation - leaving their children out of the classroom, and in many cases, drawn into labour or early responsibilities at home. This isn't just a problem for one child. It's a cycle that repeats across generations. SnehPathshala exists to break it. By removing every financial and social barrier to education, we give children in Ranchi and Gurugram a real opportunity to build skills, confidence, and a vision for their own futures.
SnehPathshala centres are established directly within underserved communities - making education physically and socially accessible to children who would otherwise go without.
In Ranchi, three centres serve children from tribal and underprivileged backgrounds, offering regular classes, mentorship, and a curriculum tailored to each child's learning level. In Palra Village, Gurugram, our newest centre focuses on children of daily-wage labourers, many of whom are enrolling in a structured learning programme for the very first time.
Each centre is run by trained volunteers and educators who track every child's progress and adapt teaching to individual needs. Our approach is grassroots and relationship-driven -built on trust with local families, not just enrolment numbers. We engage communities first, understand the real barriers families face, and earn their confidence before we open a classroom door.
SnehPathshala's growth has been made possible entirely through the generosity of donors and the dedication of volunteers. As we expand further, your support helps us reach more children. Right now, our most urgent need is funding for learning materials and educator support at our newest Gurugram centre.
